OMP 1.2: Translation key doesn't work

Hi all,
I’m working on Italian translation but there are some things that I can’t understand:

  1. let’s see the ITALIAN version of this page:

http://www.fedoabooks.unina.it/index.php/fedoapress/catalog/book/36

The role for the people is Volume Editor but:
my locale/it_IT/default.xml and lib/pkp/locale/it_IT/default.xml have the translated keys:

<message key="default.groups.name.volumeEditor">Curatore del Libro</message> <message key="default.groups.plural.volumeEditor">Curatori del Libro</message>

  1. Then let’s see the ITALIAN version of this page:

As role you just see the translation key:
default.groups.name.author

but my locale/it_IT/default.xml and lib/pkp/locale/it_IT/default.xml have the right translated key:

<message key="default.groups.name.author">Autore</message>

Why?

Hi @Alfredo_Cosco,

Defaults are installed when the journal is created, so if your Italian translation wasn’t complete at that point, you won’t see changes reflected. After the journal is created, the defaults are stored in the database and can be accessed through the Setup forms.

So, do I have to click on “Reload defaults” below the Locale installed in the Languages Tab?

Hi @Alfredo_Cosco,

No, I believe that only resets email templates and plugin-specific data. You’ll need to go through the journal setup forms to change the already-installed defaults.
