Hi everybody,

I configured a new instance of OJS 3.4.0.8 with the mail server running on the same server where the platform is deployed.
E-mails sent from the platform are rejected by the my company’s Exchange server because the From address specified in the e-mail is empty.

## **This is the error message I’m getting on my sender e-mail client:**

## **My config.inc.php has the following email settings** :

; If any of your users have email addresses in domains not under your control
; you may need to set this to be compliant with DMARC policies published by

; Setting this will move the users address into the reply-to field and the
; from field wil be rewritten with the default\_envelope\_sender.
; To use this you must set force\_default\_enveloper\_sender = On and
; default\_envelope\_sender must be set to a valid address in a domain you own.
; force\_dmarc\_compliant\_from = On

; The display name to use with a DMARC compliant from header
; By default the DMARC compliant from will have an empty name but this can

; dmarc\_compliant\_from\_displayname = ‘%n via %s’

; If enabled, email addresses must be validated before login is possible.

Hi Everybody,

Solved my problem, for anyone having a similar issue: I reverted the config.inc.php to the original state and after talking with our IT administrator and looking specifically at the php.ini, I noticed that our server uses sendmail. Because of that, I changed the config.inc.php accordingly, see below.

* * *

## **php.ini settings**

sendmail\_path = “/usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i”

## **config.inc.php settings**

default = sendmail
sendmail\_path = “/usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i”
