The review step in OJS is complex and has 2 stages in a way: one when editors manage review and reviewer and one once revisions have been asked to the author. These 2 parts are not clearly distinguished in OJS submissions dashboard. Once revisions are asked, OJS does not include information so that editors can easily differentiate submissions that are under review from those waiting for revisions.
An editor can easily view without opening a submission if all reviewers have submitted their recommendations but not if the revisions have been asked to the author. For that, the editor needs to open the submission.
Describe the solution you’d like
The editors must be able to distinguish between submission currently in review and those waiting for authors revision.
Distinguish submission under review from those waiting for author revisions can be done in various ways:
- Include an indicator in the submission’s dashboard to clear display that revisions have been asked. When the revisions have been asked but not received, the indicator in 0/1, when revisions have been received, indicator is 1/1
- Display the date when those revisions have been asked for or received.
