We’re having multiple email problems on our instance of OJS.
We get SPF authentication failures on Gmail as well as some other domains. Further, in some of our journals (but not all), editors do not receive the initial email notification that a new article has been submitted. Additionally, emails sometimes do not send if the author and the journal editor are from the same institution.
After consulting the docs, we created a new email address following SPF protocol and added that address as the envelope sender. We’re still having no luck solving the above problems, however. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. We’re using 3.2.1.3.
Hi @bkatzir
Are you using a gmail address as sender in your OJS? have you granted your installation security privileges to use this account?
Best,
Israel
Hi Israel,
Could you be kind enough to show us how to grant this request? The settings are quite different now. Many thanks.

We’re not using a Gmail address as sender, we’re using an address on our institution’s domain. But all emails to Gmail addresses either drop or show up in Gmail as “Gmail could not verify the authenticity of this sender.”
Hi @bkatzir
Have you set your SPF record and your OJS properly to send emails using your main domain?
