OJS 3.4 not going LTS but OJS 3.5 yes?

Hello,

We currently have the 3.3. We are planning to upgrade soon but we would like to upgrade for also a LTS version.

I have a question when I look at this releases notes, OJS 3.4 is not in LTS but it says that OJS 3.5 is going likely to Long-Term Support in Q1 2026

So the LTS for OJS 3.4 is going to be skipped?

If so we will upgrade to 3.5 LTS instead of 3.4 them.

In terms of upgrade I still need to go from 3.3 to 3.4 and after 3.5 or can I direct go from 3.3 to 3.5?

Hi @gkuhn,

Correct - OJS 3.4 will not receive an LTS designation.

OJS 3.5 will receive an LTS designation - likely in the next or following minor release (3.5.0-4 or 3.5.0-5). So when you upgrade, ensure that you upgrade to that release (or a later release)

You should be able to go directly from 3.3 to 3.5.
