OJS 3.4 Allowing open and subcribe articles shown in main page

Hi All

This is my first post here and I am quite new to OJS… a few weeks old…

We want to have some articles of free access and others under payment/subcriptions.

As far as I can see, in order to have subscriptions to work, all readers are forced to susbcribe and login to the system. In this case, the main page shows nothing but a login screen.

Is there a way to have non-subcribing articles being shown on the main page, before login? and subscribing articles also shown but when clicked, either send you to login page, a payment page or show a message saying that is a paid article and has to do x procedure for payment?

Hope I made my case clear.

Regards,

Alvaro

In this post, you note:

Could you elaborate further on how exactly to go about doing this? I tested this in 3.4 and couldn’t find an obvious way to go about it.

Hi @rcgillis,

When the journal is configured (in Settings > Distribution > Access) for subscription-based access, you should be able to see the following tab when you edit an issue:

Once you designate the issue as subscription-based, you can go to the Table of Contents and flag specific articles as open access:

Ah - I see it now - I think I didn’t have the settings set in the same way - thank you!
