OJS 3.3 404 or 500 error

We have our journal hosted at bjohns.in. This redirects to bjohns.in/journal23 which hosts the present version of the journal and is working fine.

We had an archive section for pre 2023 issues which is installed as OJS 3.3. We could not move that as there was some problem while upgrading and even restoring backup sql database, etc. did not work.

So we left the pre2023 version at bjohns.in/journal3 using ojs 3.3 and it was working fine till hostgator decided to remove php 7. As known, this caused the xmlparser clash error and the site gets error 500. I spoke to hostgator staff and they added a .htaccess file to force php 7.3 for the subfolder but now I am continuously getting a 404 error.

Please help.

Have You try To change Yur PHP to PHP 8? and can you share your Error log ?

Php 8.3 is the default php but that brings out the xmlparser and pkpxnlparser clash error

But if i use .htaccess to change to php 7.2 it becomes 404 error

This part of the site runs oja 3.2.1
