i installed this plugin. how this plugin work? its very helpful plugin

Hi,

What OJS version are you using? The plugin is still work in progress, I have not tested it yet with 3.1.1. GitHub - ajnyga/forthcoming: OJS3 plugin for showing forthcoming articles

Make sure that the folder name is just “forthcoming” not for example “forthcoming-master” and make sure the plugin is in the generic folder.

After enabling the plugin go to the “schedule for publication” action of a submission you want to show as a forthcoming article. In the modal window there should be a checkbox you can use the select the article.

You should be able to access the page displaying the forthcoming articles from http://yoursite.com/index.php/yourjournal/forthcoming. You can add that page to your navigation menu.

I will add some new features to the plugin later this year. I will at least check if I can add a new menu item for the navigation menus so that you do not have to use a direct link to the page.

can describe, how i do this?

my forthcoming page its worked, but still blank.

anw i use OJS 3.1.1

In the submission workflow there are four stages: submission, review, coypediting and production. In the production stage when you have a ready article, you choose the issue where article will be published by selecting the “schedule for publication” button. See the last screenshot here: https://pkp.gitbooks.io/ojs3/content/en/production.html

Hi @ajnyga ,

Hi, @ajnyga
I am using OJS 3.2. I have installed Forthcoming article in Generic Plugins, but that is not working on this version. Could you please resolve this issue. Your plugin is very interesting and helpful for the journal.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

Will the plugin work with 3.1.2.4?

Installed this plugin, but checkbox to mark an article as forthcoming is not appearing anywhere in the Schedule article page. The forthcoming article page (…journalname/forthcoming), display following:

Unrecognized DAO PublishedArticleDAO!

Any solution?

Hi, I have the same issue reported by pattu. With version OJS 3.2.0.2 when I add the link to view the forthcoming article I see the error:

Unrecognized DAO PublishedArticleDAO!

Do you have any update?

Thanks,
Marcella

please someone help this error. i got this message to with OJS 3.2.1-1

Hi,
As far as I know, this plugin still needs to be updated in order to become compatible with OJS 3.2.x.
Regards,

Dear @ajnyga, we would be really obliged, if you could give us even some vague idea of when you might update the plugin, and whether you plan to continue working on it at all. Thank you for all your efforts anyway!

Hi, we are upgrading to OJS 3.2 during autumn so I will be updating the plugin soon. Sorry for the delay. The thing is that OJS has changed so much between the versions that I have to rewrite the whole thing. I am also hoping that I could add support for DOIs, but have to see if it is possible. The problem there is OJS is based on the concept that all published articles always belong to a specific issue and that issue has to be published.
