[OJS 3.0.2] Captcha Error in registration or sending a submission

Hi, well i start to get an error when some one try to register, or someone already registered tried to send a submission, drop me this:

I double check my private and public key of recaptcha in the config.ini and still valid, i restarted the service server and continue dropping me that error…

Any idea??

Hi @alienmau,

I’d suggest upgrading to a newer release; Google recently retired their ReCAPTCHAv1 API and if I recall correctly OJS 3.0.2 (which is now fairly old) still used it. We’re going to release OJS 3.1.1-1 a bit later today, so you might wait for that.

Thank you, I would love to be able to update, but because we handle magazines with indexing, I am afraid that something does not go well or everything is deconfigured and loses points

Hi @alienmau,

If you’re concerned about downtime, I’d suggest running a test upgrade on a copy of your database and files area. Then you can be confident about the upgrade’s success and know how long it’ll take. Avoiding upgrades is likely to lead you into more trouble longer term.
