Notification is not working from "notify users and roles"

Notification is not working from “notify users and roles” while emails are sent normally from the software.
the page keeps on loading while it should send an email to the checked users.

no error is displayed.

What application are you using?

There may not be any displayed errors in the browser but perhaps there are fatal errors in your server’s error log.
