Hello everyone,
I’m looking for some advice.
I’ve developed a very early beta project called Alexandria Review that integrates with OJS through the API. The goal is to address reviewer recruitment, reviewer compensation, and reducing editorial overhead while leaving OJS in control of the publication process.
I’m not looking to promote it at this stage. What I’m looking for are people within the OJS community who enjoy examining new ideas and providing constructive criticism before a project matures.
Who would you recommend I contact, or where would be the best place within the OJS community to discuss a project like this and receive informed feedback?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @bbrout,
I think you’re in the right place here on the forum - but I’ve changed the category to “Community Showcase,” which is where these types of things tend to be shared. Preferably, for something like this, you would share a link to the repo on Github and invite comments and testing to take place. Typically, for PKP plugins, getting feedback specifically on your plugin can be done within the Github issues for your specific plugin repository.

Thank you very much, Roger. I appreciate your suggestion.
I haven’t published the source code on GitHub yet, although the intention is for Alexandria Review to be open source.
For anyone who is interested, there is a working beta available at:
https://www.alexandriareview.org
The system currently integrates with OJS through its API and uses the Sepolia Ethereum test network for testing the escrow and settlement components, so no real funds are involved.
I also have user documentation in progress. I would very much welcome any comments or criticism from the OJS community while the project is still in its early stages.

Hi @bbrout ,
Thanks for sharing. A demo and any documentation you have to share would also be good. Are you aware of the reviewer credits program: https://www.reviewercredits.com/? They emphasize their goals as being to recruit, reward, and manage reviewers - so they may have similar goals to you, and they already have some OJS integrations.
What you’re planning might be different than this, but I did want to make you aware of it, in case you weren’t.
