What specific version of OJS are you using (e.g. 3.3.0-13) - in the future, please indication this in your posts as it assists with troubleshooting? Does dragging your mouse cursor down from the end of the top line down to the start of the next line that you wish to keep and then pressing “delete” remove the space?
If there are some invisible characters there, you might try copying and pasting the full form into a text-based editor such as BBEdit in order to view that actual characters that are present in the blank area. You can also edit the text in the text editor and then replace the original text with your edited copy.
