How to add a sign which will mean that submission has comment

Hy,

i know there is topic for that but is really old - Add submission note icon to article lists.

I need to add a icon or some sign to submissions (unassigned, under review, under editing) which have comments. My client does not want to go on ojs 3.0 yet, current version is 2.4.8.1. How can i add that icon in ojs 2.4.8.1?
