Hi. I want to add new language to OJS. It is Armenia. It is trasnlated 99%. But it is not in the list of languages. How can I add or install it to my OJS ? Thank you.
Hi @Hayk,
A lot of the new translations are using newer translation guides designed for newer versions of OJS, so you’ll have to upgrade from 3.1 (this is a good idea anyway since 3.1 is no longer supported). How to go about installing and working with new languages is explained in detail in our documentation here: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/translating-guide/en/managing-languages#install-a-language

I am using OJS 3.3.0.6.
Ok. Thank you.
Hi @Hayk,
Thanks for clarifying. If you’re running 3.3.0-6 you should be fine to install the language as per the link above.
Best,

Hi.
I have done everything as in the link, but a lot of parts are still missing, but it is translated for 100%.
What can I do now ?
Hi @Hayk,
I’m curious where you found that it is translated 100%. Our translation is showing it at 0%:
https://translate.pkp.sfu.ca/languages/ ?

Hi @rcgillis
There are two Armemian. One is 0, the other one is 99%:
Hi @rcgillis ,
Sure. Here is the link

Languages number 6 and 7 are Armenian and Armenian(hy_Am)
Hi @Hayk,
I see what you mean now. I was able to install Armenian, but not Armenian (hy_AM) - how did you go about installing the locale for Armenian(Hy_AM) - I’m wondering if the installation method may have affected it.

Hi @rcgillis
I have downloaded and installed manualy the locale for Armenian(Hy_AM), but it is not translated 99% as showed. Is there anything else we can do to get full translation ?
Thank you.
Hi.
Any updates ??
Thank you.
Hi @Hayk,
Please be patient. Support on the PKP Community Forum is provided for free by PKP staff and community members. A post was split to a new topic: Installing locales
Hi @Hayk,
Sorry - but I have not been able to figure this out. I will have to see if some of our other team members may be able to assist.

Hi @Hayk,
I spoke with one of our team members about this and he suggested this:
" So, you can double check that he added the files to all the locale folders (e.g. /locale, lib/pkp/locale, and also for the plugins which he’s using)
And ask him to clear the cache.
And to clear the cache: Administration > Clear Data Caches"
Could you give that a try and see if it works?

Hi @rcgillis ,
I have double check, that I have added the files and clear the cache, but unfortunatly nothig has changed.
Hi @Hayk,
Sorry, but I am out of ideas and have no more advice to offer at this point in time. I hope you will be able to resolve the issue - other community members may wish to assist.

Hi @rcgillis
We have updated to last version, manually installed all plugins languages, but still it is not full translated. Any new ideas what can be done next?
We need to have our project translated into Armenian and have it launched until the end of the year. Our team has been doing huge work for the translations and now we cannot launch this project beacuse of technical issues that are from our side.
