How accessible is OJS for authors, editors and readers?

Hi everyone,

I will be starting up a new journal in early ‘21 in disability studies. Can anyone comment on how accessible OJS 3 (a direct comparison to 2.4 would be also interesting!) is for authors, editors and readers? I have not been able to find much about OJS’ accessibility online beyond a statement saying v3 will have much improved accessibility.

Thanks,
David.

Hi David,

I hope this update from PKP will answer your questions - https://pkp.sfu.ca/2020/05/21/is-your-journal-accessible-working-with-community-to-make-ojs-open-for-all/

We will also soon be releasing a guide on Creating Accessible Content for Editors and Authors as part of the PKP Docs Hub - watch this space https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/

This work is done by PKP with community participation via the Accessibility Interest Group - here’s more info about the group if you are interested https://pkp.sfu.ca/accessibility-interest-group/
