Failed Ajax request or invalid JSON returned with the Author Requirements plugin

I installed the Author Requirements in the gallery OJS plugin. After that, when I try to edit or add an author in the publication contributors field I received the following error: “Failed Ajax request or invalid JSON returned”.

I saw the PHP log error: "PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function getData() on null OJS in /home1/ifmsab93/bms.ifmsabrazil.org/cache/t_compile/502a3c7e2e32fa61fb30b380b67fb26018d497e4^06932f1259fee8e7c6747e1a2b9752b223abefd1_0.app.controllersgridusersautho.php:36

I try to understand this error, by I could not. I uninstalled the plugin, but it did not work out either.

All my version are in the image bellow:

I hope that someone could help me!

Hi @Giulia_Carvalhal,

One other pieces of information that might help here: what version of the plugin are you using, and how did you install it?

Thanks @Giulia_Carvalhal,

@ewhanson is the plugin developer for this plugin - Erik - wondering if you could speak to this one?

Hi @Giulia_Carvalhal,

Thanks for flagging this. This was a bug in the most recent version of the plugin. I’ve updated it and submitted it to the plugin gallery. I’ll let you know once it’s available.

Hi @ewhanson ,

Thanks for your answer. Do you know how can I solve the error? I already uninstall the plugin, but I am still receiving the “Failed Ajax request or invalid JSON returned" when I try to edit or add an author in the publication field.

Kind Regards,
Giulia

Hi @Giulia_Carvalhal,

Clearing the cache would probably fix this. This can be done from Administration → Clear Template Cache and Administration → Clear Data Caches.
