Error 500 shows when new users want to register, distribution tab is not working, I cannot edit author details in submission

I am using OJS version 3.2.1.1 and I currently need help to address these problems. First, new users are not able to register when they try to register, it shows an error 500 as shown in Figure 1. Please, bear in mind that I did not turn off new user registration in my settings. Second, the distribution tab is not working as it also shows a similar error. Thirdly, when I try to edit an author in the submission process, it shows “failed AJAX request or invalid JSON returned.” See Figure 2.

Are you able to access your PHP error logs and report on errors found there?

No, I am not. I think that is part of my problem. How do I go about it?

I have been able to access my error logs. The “highlight.comment” and “highlight.string” have theor configuration in pink. highlight.default and is in blue but I do not know what to do.
