Email written in plain text

Hi,
When you fill in the email field under Settings > Journal > Contact the source code will be written in plain text. I guess it will make the email vulnerable to spam bots. Isn’t it right? Don’t you have a better solution, maybe some Javascript?

Hi @nef,

Smarty supports various forms of email address encoding – see {mailto} | Smarty – that can be applied to the contact email address by editing lib/pkp/templates/frontend/pages/contact.tpl (or equivalent, depending on your theme). But I suspect that email address scrapers are sophisticated enough to locate and harvest addresses encoded this way and would want to find some kind of confirmation that this kind of encoding is still useful.
