Email templates disabling

Hi

I have a question concerning email templates - I can see that some email templates have the option Edit and Disable while others are left with the option Edit only.

I was wondering if it is possible to somehow add option Disable in all email templates.

I’m using OJS 3.3.0.8.

Thank you for your help, I’m very glad that the forum is here for us

Hi @apla,

No - this isn’t possible (at least at this time). Currently, you can only disable templates that are not sent manually.

Hi @apla,

Just to explain the logic a little more: there are some emails that are sent implicitly during the workflow. It makes sense to be able to disable these, for journals that don’t want the messages to be sent when working through workflow operations.

There are other email templates, though, that can only be sent through a manual activity (e.g. clicking a button that has no other function but to send an email). It doesn’t make sense to be able to disable these, as they can only be sent by the editor manually.

Can you describe your interest in disabling these in a more general sense? (Perhaps we have an email template mis-classified, for example!)

Thank you for the answers!

I was asked by one of the journal editors if it is possible because the amount of templates made them confused :woman_shrugging:

Thank you very much!
