Is there a reference for the Editorial Activity statistics page in OJS, showing which data elements each of the tallies come from? Perhaps my library degree is letting me down and I missed them somewhere obvious, but I’ve been unable to find a breakdown of how they’re are generated (ie, exactly which database fields they draw on).
For example, I know that Submissions Published is not the sum total of all submissions with a publication attached because it doesn’t seem to cover uploads via QuickSubmit. Publications deriving from QuickSubmit seem to be counting in Imported Submissions, but I can’t find independent confirmation of this.
To be comprehensive, I’d like to understand how each of the following are calculated:
- Submissions Received
- Submissions Accepted
- Submissions Declined
- Submissions Published
- Submissions in Progress
- Imported Submissions
The reason I’m asking: I’m doing QC for an upgrade by comparing the Editorial Activity stats in a live 3.3 journal and its staged clone in 3.5. It’s an old, large journal that has been through a lot of version upgrades. There are weird discrepancies between the Editorial Activity stats that I can’t account for by other means (eg, by editorial activity made in the live version since the clone was made).
It would be really handy if I could look at the list of submissions behind each stat to investigate the discrepancies. I tried reverse engineering the Editorial Activity stats in Metabase but couldn’t (I found the source of one discrepancy but not another).
