Do new sections affect submission_id?

Why in OJS 3.1.2 when I create a new section then submission_id increases by 1? It’s not a submission…
I created DOIs in advance based on the articles and so it ruins all the work.
Is this my fault or a “strange novelty” compared to OSJ 2?

I’m not sure I understand your question entirely - the submission_id of an article or the section? I’m not understanding too the piece about the DOIs and how you create your DOIs based on your articles - can you explain further, please?

Also, please note that if you’re using OJS 3.1, please note that the version of OJS that you’re using is no longer supported by PKP.

Creating a new section should not increase the submission_id. I suspect something else is happening there.

Yes, OJS 3.1.2 is quite old; I would suggest upgrading to 3.3.0.

I have upgraded to OJS 3.3.0-8. Now everything is OK, no submission_id increment for new sections.
