I have quite recently taken over as journal manager for the journals we publish at our institution and I am trying to find out about deleting submission.
I believe I remember from a while ago that there was an option to delete submission, that there was a possibility by clicking the arrow to the right of the submission in the list, but that option is no longer there. It is only possible now to view ‘activity and log’.
We have installed the Delete Incomplete Submissions plugin, but this doesn’t work because none of the submissions are incomplete.
They are either ‘Unassigned‘ ‘Active‘ or ‘Archived‘ and I need to find out how to delete all those that are not Archived.
Can someone please help me here?
This was a question from one of the Journal editor’s. We want our editors to be able to work as independently as possible, but he cannot figure this out, and I cannot do it.
So, I’m not sure if the developers will create a new version for 3.5? This is a 3rd-party-developed plugin by Lepidus, so they would have to determine if they think it is appropriate to do a release for 3.5, given this functionality. @abadan - do you know about the plans for this plugin, given that similar functionality (I haven’t used your plugin so I don’t know if it’s exactly the same…).
Since this feature is now available natively, we do not plan to port it to OJS 3.5.
I have updated the plugin README to indicate that this feature is native in OJS 3.5.
Note: the plugin has the advantage of allowing you to specify the time period for incomplete submissions to be deleted, avoiding the removal of incomplete submissions that the author saved to continue later.
Thanks so much for sharing these details and updating the repo. Great that we’ll have this functionality in 3.5, and equally great that we have Lepidus’ plugin to have filled in the gap for previous versions.
