Date displayed in How to cite - Citation style language plugin

Describe the problem you would like to solve
The How to cite function (Citation Style Language plugin) displays the article date from the “published date”.
Couldn’t it take the date from the number of Volume?

We have retrieved old issues of some journals of other publishers on our platform and we didn’t enter the original date at first, so in the “how to cite” we see the wrong date.
E.g. https://riviste.unimi.it/index.php/ebph/article/view/17320 we retrieved a 2018 issue, and in the How to cite we see the published date:
2022 Feb. 15 [cited 2025 Feb. 7];15(4)

Describe the solution you’d like
Couldn’t “How to cite” function take the date from the number of Volume?

Who is asking for this feature?
Journal managers who retrieve old issues on their platform, as the publishing date is not the same as the original one

This has been complained about several times.

See e.g. Citation Language Style plugin bug: Issue year should have precedence over article publication year

I’ve added a fix to the CSL plugin code that I port over from OJS version to version. When I find time, I will share it on GitHub.
