When you create a new sections you can configure it (title, abbreviation, etc).
What happens when you check “Will not be included in the indexing of the journal” in Indexing settings?

If that box is unchecked, then the “About” area will identify the section as non-indexed, and authors will not be presented with indexing fields, when those are enabled, such as keywords. This is generally useful for e.g. review sections.

I tried using a journal without indexing fields and I didn’t see the difference using this check.
