Copyright info not visible unless CC license is present

Describe the issue or problem
When leaving the CC-license field of a submission empty, the copyright year and copyright holder are not displayed in the public view. Tried with different theme plugins with same result

My opinion is that we should be able to display the copyright year and holder even if the article isn’t distributed under a CC license. But I’m not sure if this is a bug, something particular to our installation, or by design.

Steps I took leading up to the issue

  1. Have published submission with copyright holder, copyright year and CC license. All is displayed in the license field in the sidebar of the article view.
  2. Unpublish submission.
  3. Remove CC-license URL, save.
  4. Publish submission.
  5. Neither copyright year or copyright holder is displayed in article view.
