Continuous Publishing with OJS3.4

I am using OJS/PKP 3.4 and planning to implement Continuous Publishing / Early View based on the following documentation:
https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/learning-ojs/3.4/en/production-publication#continuous-publishing–early-view

I understand that an issue can be published first, and articles are then added to the Current Issue as they are ready.

  1. In this workflow, the article publication date will be later than the issue publication date. Is this expected behavior, and does this cause any issues with indexing services (e.g., Crossref, DOAJ, PubMed)?

  2. I plan to create three issues per year (Jan–Apr, May–Aug, Sep–Dec). Each issue would be published once at least one article is ready, and additional articles would be added continuously during the period. The issue would be closed at the end of the period. In this model, article publication dates will vary and will often be later than the issue publication date. I would appreciate confirmation that this is expected behavior in OJS 3.4 and does not cause indexing issues.

  3. Vol and Issue numbers are known, and so is the page number of all the articles. This makes metadata submission/DOI assignments simpler.

Thank you for your feedback.
