Some ministries request that each article should be categorized such as review, original scientific article, comment, critique… It might be good to offer editors to have previously created drop down menu or radio button option to categorize articles in that way.

This sounds like the function of Journal Sections. Have you looked at:
User Home → Journal Manager → Journal Sections ?

We can call section Physics or Articles. But, one article in Physics can be research while other can be review. SO, categorization I am talking about is rather concerned with method of work than topic.
So there articles may belong to the same section, but can have different categorization. one can be original scientific paper while other may be research report and another may be overview.
