Can editors be not notified when a user respond to an invitation to a role?

Describe the issue or problem
In OJS 3.5, editors must invite users to take a new role. Invitations can be monitored in a specific section of the user/role page:

Once a user respond to an invitation either to reject it or accept it the user name disappear from the invitation list but from what we tested so far no notification is sent to the journal

So the only way to now the answer seems to be look at the user account and see if the new role as been added or not.

Steps I took leading up to the issue

  1. Connect as journal editor
  2. Go to Settings, User and Role
  3. Choose a user (who have an email you have access to) and clic on Edit and then on “Add Another Role” button
  4. Choose the role, a date and if he/she should appear on Masthead and then clic “Save and continue” button
  5. Send the email
  6. Look at the Invitations section: the name of the user invited appears
  7. Log out as editor
  8. Look at the email received and clic on Accept.
  9. Log back in as Editor
  10. The name as deappeared from the Invitation section
  11. But now notifcations has been sent (either to journal generic adress or Journal manager).

What application are you using?
OJS 3.5.0.3.

Thanks for your help!

Thank you @pilas

This was discussed during the implementation and was intended. There was some discussion of ways to add some notifications, but it is wasn’t planned to be implemented until this feature goes through some maturity. It could be developed into a feature request for the future but for now it isn’t planned.

Cheers,

Beau

Hi @grierb Thanks! I think I will add in on github. This would be a welcome improvment. Cheers, Pierre

Ok, some rather than Github, I creature a new feature request on this forum: Journals should be notified when a user answer an invitation to a role
