Browse Block plugin

Hi,
We are running OJS 3.1.2. I tried to set “Browse Block” plugin that provides sidebar “browse” tools. I have been unable to make it show the content on the sidebar. Is the Browse Block not yet implemented or a bug in OJS 3.1.2?

Looking at the code of the plugin, it currently only works if you set up categories (see journal setup).
