Authors able to select which article they are submitting to?

Is there a way for authors to choose which issue they submit their work to for a journal that might have multiple issues accepting submissions? The scenario in mind is a journal that has topic specific issues.

Hi @ryca,

OJS typically doesn’t work this way, since it is usually Editors who decide which articles are assigned to a given issue. I see what you mean though. I suppose one possible strategy that you could try is setting up a section like “Forthcoming issue - Special Topic” and the author would submit to that. The Editors could then reassign the article to the appropriate section once it undergoes review and they decide which section it goes under.

Authors can choose the category they want.
