Good day
I am trying to figure out why the author is missing from the copyediting discussion stage? Only the editor and copyeditor show as participants when trying to start a discussion?
In another journal with the same settings, the author appears as a participant. We are following the same steps.
Can anyone advise what the problem could be?
thanks in advance
Hi @Claudia2,
Can you please indicate which version of OJS you are using (e.g. 3.3.0-13)?
Thanks,

Hi Roger
It’s version 3.3.0.13.
thanks.
Hi @Claudia2,
And, have you added the author to the participants along with the copyeditor and editor? I don’t know that this is done automatically (unless you’ve had a different experience?) Our documentation gives a bit more of an overview of this stage in case this is helpful: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/learning-ojs/en/editorial-workflow#copyediting

Hi Roger
I’ve compared the steps i follow on two different journal sites - the one shows the author as a participant automatically; the other doesn’t and also does not offer to add them in the drop down list as per below.
Thanks.
Hi @Claudia2
Hmmm… did you check the roles settings? If you go to Users & Roles and check to see if the author role has the checkbox selected for “Copyediting”? And after you’ve edited the settings, you could try again to see if that worked…

This seems to have been the problem, thank you for that guidance!
