Article publishing date gets overridden by Issue publishing date?

In the past whenever I published an issue, the individual articles publishing dates would be kept and remain unchanged.

My most recent issue that I published (at the end of December 2025) caused all the individual articles publishing dates to change to that of the issue publishing date.

How can I stop this?

OJS 3.4.0.8

Hi @ATPCAT,

Did you upgrade recently? I believe this was handled differently in previous versions of OJS, which may explain the difference.

Did each article have an explicit publication date before you publish (or republish) the issue?

If not, then you should set the Publication Date you actually want (e.g., the original article date).
4. Save, and then publish the issue.

Once an article’s publication date is explicitly set, OJS shouldn’t need to recalculate it when based on the issue date , so the date will remain unchanged on future issue publishes.

To restore the original article dates, you unfortunately have to adjust them per-article.
