Archiving an old OJS site without PHP & DB

Hello,

we are running an OJS 2.x installation at www.continentcontinent.cc and are now looking for a way to archive the old site before moving on to a new platform.

The main reason being that support for the PHP version is running out at our host, and we don’t have the capacity to upgrade & maintain an OJS 3 version.

The current idea is to download an archive of the site and host this archive on our domain, and implement a url_rewrite rule that forwards old link urls to the archive pages.

Now we were wondering if anyone here has done this before, and has any suggestions for software and workflow? I did a few experiments with htttrack, which mostly works, but isn’t perfect.

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome!

Cheers
