We’re running an installation of OJS on a server (let’s call it example.com). We’d like to allow authors to sign themselves up to our journal, but it doesn’t seem to be working.
Currently, if I go to http://example.com/journalname, I can click About → Online Submissions → Go to Registration, and get a registration page that looks like I’m going to be registering as a user on journalname. There’s even a checkbox to click if I’d like to be registered as an author.
However, what actually happens is that the newly-registered user is added to the pool of users for http://example.com, with no special permissions on journalname. I need to go into the Journal Manager screens to enroll the new user as an author on journalname.
Is there a configuration option that I missed that will allow authors to sign themselves up?
