Hi folks – I’m using QuickSubmit. I want to add an article by a known user (someone already in the system as an author), and there doesn’t seem to be a way to do it. Under the “list of contributors” section in the QuickSubmit page, there’s an “add contributor” button, but it only let’s me add new information. Is there no way to point to a known user and say “this person is the author”?
I’m using OJS3 + Quick Submit[v1.0.4-1 (latest release)

Hi @kenirwin,
OJS maintains separate user and author records; user accounts are unique but author records are not. This permits submissions to refer to authors in a way that doesn’t change as they e.g. move to new institutions or change their names without changing the scholarly record.
You might look into the ORCID Profile plugin – this is available in the Plugin Gallery for new releases of OJS. It allows you to invite other authors to authenticate with Orcid.
