500 internal server error

The following statement appears on the screen when author click paper review. As admin, what should we do?

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

Hi @norazizahmyacob this can have a number of reasons. It would be good to know more about that problem so that we can help you.

Please take a look at your server’s logs. There is usually an error log and an access log. The error log is the one you need, because an error 500 as you are experiencing will appear there with a bit more detail. These files are usually located in the directory /var/log/apache, /var/log/apache2 or /var/log/httpd and need to be accessed through a terminal or downloaded by FTP, depending on your configuration.

In this log file, one line is writte per incident. The lines start with a timestamp, you will be able to identify the appropriate log line (if there are more) by that. If you post that line here, we can see more clearly what the problem is. (Please remember to hide any sensitive information from the log file, depending on what you see there.)
