OJS 3 upgrade: Test Schedule

Queen’s is rolling-over to OJS 3.0.2 shortly. This is my first
significant migration ( Iam at Q administrator – front end elements).
Wondering if you have a list of standard test exercises for this
version you might share with me?
Thanks
Rosarie

Hi @Rosarie_Coughlan,

Are these exercises to ensure that the upgrade has worked properly, or e.g. exercises for your editors to work through to learn the differences?

Hi Alec

These exercises would be to ensure that the upgrade has worked properly. Thanks for your help!

Hi @Rosarie_Coughlan,

We don’t have anything standardized – the biggest check, of course, is whether the upgrade reports that it was successful. Beyond that, I typically click around the site a little bit (both on the front end and on the back end) to ensure that the site passes a quick visual inspection, noting details like accented characters (if any are used). Then I pass it over to the users for a test, as they know the content best – looking over a few in-progress submissions that they’re familiar with is usually enough. Then it’s a good idea to watch the PHP error log to ensure nothing is popping up there.
